We are so excited to have you consign with us!

  •  This consignment sale is for high-end trunk show and boutique clothes only, for both boys and girls, sizes 0-16. For a list of accepted brands click here

To register for the Fall Sale,
    please click here
  • For the Fall Sale, we will accept Fall, Winter, Christmas and Transitional clothing, as well as high-end Halloween costumes.
  • For the Spring Sale, we will accept Spring, Summer, Swimsuits, Easter, and Transitional clothes.
  • All items should be in excellent to gently used condition. We also ask that you only consign current styles and classic items. Carousel Consignment has the right to turn away items that we feel are too dated or worn looking.
  • Clothes should be hung on hangers so that when you look at the item, the hanger makes a question mark. Tags should be pinned to the right corner of the item. If you do not want to pin due to the fragility of the fabric, please attach securely to the hanger. Hangers will not be returned. You might want to use store hangers. Start saving those! Wire hangers are also fine and can be bent down at the shoulder.
  • A tagging gun, such as this one, is a small investment that makes a big difference:
  • Presentation is important! Please wash and press the items. Wrinkled items won't sell.
  • Pin clothing sets securely together with pants hung on the backside of the shirt and pinned at the waist on the hanger, so that both pieces can be viewed without unpinning them.
  • Shoes should be tied together with ribbon so that customers can try them on if desired.
  • You may include "Play clothes". Remember how you cried when your child's chocolate bunny ended up on their Easter outfit? Here is a chance to redeem it. "Play clothes" are items by the same brands that are a little more worn, or have small stains, and should be priced accordingly. Please write PLAY on the tag, and if there is a stain, describe it. Be very honest. If a stain is discovered on the item that was not disclosed, we will either pull the item from inventory or reduce the price by 20% to reflect the damage.
  • We will not accept: toys, books, games, baby gear, maternity clothes, room decor or bedding. But if you have an item other than clothes or shoes that you think would sell in our sale, please just ask us, you never know!
  • Very rarely, stuff happens. If your clothes are lost or (gasp) stolen, Carousel Consignments will not be held responsible.

Why should I consign with you?
  • Because children's boutique shopping is a niche market, and we are dedicated to reaching shoppers from all over Austin. Greater exposure means that you can price your clothes for the amounts that they deserve.  We have over 600 shoppers on our email list alone that we advertise our sale too.
  • Because our sale makes you more money.  Similar sales in the area only give you 60% of your sales and charge you a $10 consignor fee.  We charge $8 and give you 65%.  Also dropping off at resale stores only gets you about 25-30% of your profits.  When you invest in high end items its good to get back a higher percentage of your investment...to buy more cute stuff with!!
How do I go about tagging?
  • Tagging is super easy. Go here to register, enter in the information, print off your tags, and voila - you're in business.
  • If you have handwritten tags from previous sales, we can still use them. And, if you have tags from other consignment sales, we can use those with our system as well.  YOU WILL STILL HAVE TO REGISTER WITH US and all tags must contain your seller number!
  • Print the tags on paper (cardstock is highly recommended but not required) and use safety pins to attach the tags to the clothes. If you use colored paper or mark your tags in a certain way (a small star, for instance) it makes post-sale sorting much easier.
  • You must decide if you want your clothes to be reduced 30% for the last hour of the sale (we highly recommend this to maximize your selling potential.)
  • Please enter detailed enough descriptions so that if the tag becomes separated from the item, we can easily match it. The more info, the better.
  • Many boutique brands are not true to size - please also note the size you believe it to be, even if this is different from the label (eg, '3 but fits like a 2')
  • If the tag is lost, we will still sell your item at a price we think is appropriate.

How should I price my stuff?
  • That's up to you - you will set your own prices. Ask yourself, how much would I pay for this? Most items should be priced between 50% and 75% off of the original retail price, or what you paid (if it was on sale).  Items sizes 2 and smaller are harder to sell and should be priced closer to 75/80% retail, while certain brands like Matilda Jane have a higher resell value and will sell closer to 50% off retail value.  Looking up the sold item prices for similar size/brand on eBay can be helpful to get an idea of worth, but choose the prices at the low end of the spectrum for Austin's resale market.
  • If your item is monogrammed, please keep in mind that the buyer will probably have some expense in making it work for them, and price accordingly.

What if I have a lot of clothes, but I don't have time to make the tags?
For you, we have the BUSY MOMS' OPTION.
  • bring the clothes to us by the drop off date of Sunday, August 28th (email CarouselAustin@gmail.com to arrange a time)
  • We have THREE drop-off locations for Busy Moms:  Circle C Ranch (5839 Van Winkle Lane), in Meridian (12324 Aralia Ridge Dr.), or in Northwest Hills (8606 Emerald Hill Dr.).  If you need to arrange a separate drop-off date, we're here for you. Just ask!
  • If the clothes are pressed and on hangers and we tag and price them for you, you will receive a reduced consignor's profit of 50% of the sale price
  • If the clothes are not on hangers, you will receive 35% of the sale price
  • The profit is lower, but because we have a better idea of what prices work best, you might end up making more this way than if you tagged them yourself.

To register for the SPRING Sale, please click here

  • We are basing Carousel Consignments on the same basic business model that Missy used with her former sale in Houston called Smockaholics Anonymous. Smockaholics grew very quickly to about 1500 transactions with about $50,000 worth of inventory, so we have confidence in the model, although of course we will tweak it as need be since Austin is a different market.

Jennifer & Missy

Carousel Consignment is a new consignment sale in Austin specifically for boutique, high end children's clothes. It was started by Jennifer Ferrante and Missy Dollahon, two Austin moms.

Jennifer loves to dress her two girls, ages 7 & 12, in cute clothes.  Jennifer moved to Austin from Dallas, where she sold hairbows to boutiques and was on staff for many years at a successful children's consignment sale. Jennifer's husband considers one of her "super powers" as being able to identify boutique clothes and knowing their resale value.

Missy is mom to five kiddos ages 5-13. She moved to Austin from Houston, where she started Smockaholics Anonymous, a very successful consignment sale in the Memorial area that provided Houston moms with boutique clothes at great prices for five years. She's very excited to create a similar event for Austin moms!
